Voice Lessons

CSA private voice lessons are offered for students age 13 and older. Lessons are taught by Sandy Hill and Nayo Ulloa. Mrs. Hill includes master class and studio voice recitals at the Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall for her private CSA voice students. Students who are new to CSA voice instruction may email CSA@goshen.edu to set up an interview, after which registration may be completed.

Private lessons are arranged into Fall and Spring terms of 15 weeks each.  An abbreviated 10-week semester of instruction is also offered.  Fall term lessons begin the week of August 29, 2011; Spring term lessons begin the week of Jan. 23, 2012.  Registration deadline is one week before the beginning of each term. Registration fees* and at least 1/3 tuition must be paid before the first lesson.  Families may apply for Acorn Scholarshipsfor any CSA private lesson offering.  When two or more students in one family take a full term of 15 private lessons through CSA during a given season, there will be a 10% discount on lesson registrations following the first student.

Tuition for a 15-week semester of 30 minute lessons is $330; for 45 minute lessons, $495.  A 10-week semester of 30 minute lessons is $220.

Please note: the deadline for registering for Spring Semester lessons is  January 16, 2012. Please register before this date to avoid late fees.

Sandy Hill

Sandy HillA coloratura soprano, Sandra Hill is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a master of music degree in vocal performance, and has also done extensive vocal studies with master voice teacher Herald Stark. She has performed on Wisconsin Public Radio’s Live from the Elvehjem and has appeared in a variety of musical and operatic roles including Julie Jordan in Carousel, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense.

Mrs. Hill has actively performed and taught voice in the area since locating to Goshen in 2000 with her husband, Goshen College Professor of Music Dr. Matthew Hill, and daughter Molly. Since 2007, she has also served as director of CSA’s Shout For Joy Children’s Choir.
