The Maple City Community Orchestra—previously known as the Maple City Chamber Orchestra—is a community orchestra based in Goshen, Indiana. Goshen has a spirited appreciation for the arts, which is unusual for a Midwestern city of this size. It is from this spirit and the profound awareness of community that the MCCO was formed. This ensemble of primarily volunteer musicians from the Goshen area lends itself well to the familiar styles and repertoire of the 18th and 19th centuries. Although the MCCO focuses on works of the Baroque and Classical eras, it also performs more recent chamber pieces.
The orchestra is especially interested in sharing its love of music with children and adults who might otherwise not have an opportunity to hear orchestral music. For this reason, our concerts are free and open to the public. The orchestra relies on donations from individuals and corporations, and is a not-for-profit 501c3 corporation. The MCCO was founded in 1997 by Michael Ruhling and is currently led by Conductor and Music Director Victoria Petrak.
