Rieth Recital Series: Scott Hochstetler, baritone & H. Roz Woll, mezzo soprano — Thu, Jan 01st

Experience an afternoon of song in Rieth Recital Hall with Goshen College voice faculty Scott Hochstetler, baritone, and H. Roz Woll, mezzo-soprano. Luke Norell will accompany on piano. Their program spans centuries and styles, from the drama of Schubert’s Erlkönig to the contemporary voice of Stacy Garrop, who sets the words of Eleanor Roosevelt in a powerful song cycle. The recital closes with the two joining in duet for a Romantic flourish by Schumann. This concert is presented as part of the 2025-26 Rieth Recital Series.

Scott Hochstetler, DMA, is a professor of music at Goshen College, where he teaches and conducts in the choral, vocal and opera/musical theater areas. He is also the musical director of Camerata Singers, an area professional choir.

H. Roz Woll, DMA, assistant professor of music at Goshen College, teaches voice and directs the choir, Voices of the Earth. She previously lived in New York City, where she taught voice, vocal pedagogy, and directed the Women’s Choir at Queens College, City University of New York. Prior to living in New York, she was a conductor with the Chicago Children’s Choir for nine years, directing the Hyde Park Neighborhood Choir and choirs in 10 Chicago public schools.

Piano & Strings Camp Faculty Recital — Thu, Jan 01st

Three faculty members of the 2025 Goshen College Summer Piano and Strings Camp will present a faculty recital in Rieth Recital Hall. Performing will be Dr. Jaehyuk Choi, Dr. Rosalyn Troiano, and Nathan Berkey, viola; and Dr Matthew Hill, Dr. Luke Norell, and Dr. Mary Rose Norell, piano.  The recital is free and all are invited.

Guest Artist Recital: Eunbee Lee, violin — Thu, Jan 01st

Korean-born violinist Eunbee Lee will present a guest artist recital in Rieth Recital Hall. This free recital is presented as part of the 2025 Goshen College Piano and Strings Camp, June 15-20, 2025.

Violinist Eunbee Lee, originally from South Korea, brings extensive experience and a strong artistic vision to her work as both an educator and performer. Her passion for pedagogy and performance informs a thoughtful, expressive approach to music-making.

She is a distinguished violinist recognized for her achievements in several prestigious competitions, including the Music Education Newspaper Competition and the Korea Scholarship Competition. She made her solo debut with the Korean National Police Orchestra and has since performed widely across South Korea and the United States, actively engaging in both solo and chamber music. She has also served as a section violinist with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Ohio Valley Symphony and Montgomery Symphony Orchestra.

She earned both her Master of Music and Performance Diploma in Violin from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, under the tutelage of Professor Kevork Mardirossian and as a recipient of the Jacobs Fellowship. She holds a Bachelor of Instrumental Music in Violin from Yonsei University in Seoul, where she honorably received the Merit Scholars Award.

Mrs. Lee currently serves as an Adjunct Violin Faculty at Bethel University, coaches at the Fischoff Chamber Music Academy, and is a member of the Elkhart County Symphony.
