This semester, the Community School of the Arts celebrated another successful November student recital, and we look forward to five upcoming December recitals! On November 5, thirteen CSA string and piano students performed solos with artistic integrity for an audience of over fifty in the beautiful Rieth Recital Hall of the Goshen College Music Center. The performers represented seven different studios of CSA instructors–including two new faculty members: Kent Dutchersmith, bass, and Natalie Pfiefer, cello! As always, the repertoire covered a wide range of styles, from beginning Suzuki pieces to early classical, from fiddle duets (including bass accompaniment!) to a sublime movement of a solo violin sonata by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The Fall 2022 semester will wrap up with five more CSA Student Recitals in Rieth Recital Hall on Saturday, December 10 (11:00 a.m., 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.) and Sunday December 11 (3:00 & 4:30 p.m.). More than 60 students are currently polishing their pieces for these special performances, which promise to be as inspiring as the November recital, and will, once again, feature a wide variety of instruments and musical styles.
Family, friends, and community members are warmly invited to all CSA Student Recitals—and we hope to see you in December!
