Rieth Recital Series: Hovan/Seitz Duo

Goshen College adjunct instructor of flute Rebecca Hovan will present a recital of music for flute and piano with pianist Christine Larson Seitz in Rieth Recital Hall. The recital, titled “Suite Treats,” will showcase suites from various historical periods, spanning from the Baroque era to the 20th century. The program aims to educate the audience about the concept of a suite—its origins, evolution, and development throughout history. Featured composers include Telemann, Widor, Rutter, and Busser.

The Hovan/Seitz Duo has been performing together since 1998. They have appeared in recital numerous times at Indiana University South Bend and Goshen College as well as local, regional and national conferences and as guest artists at other events. The duo enjoys crafting themed programs that intrigue and delight their audiences. Selections include standard literature, little-known gems in the repertoire, and even something a bit out of the ordinary to create well-balanced, pleasing programs.
