The Community School of the Arts choral program has a long history of musical excellence. Each year the Rejoice, Shout For Joy, and Sommo Voci choirs serve over 120 young people with superb choral instruction and at least two highly attended concerts annually. The CSA choirs will perform at the annual fall CSA Showcase on Sunday, November 12 at 4:00 pm in Sauder Concert Hall.

This year, in addition to the CSA Showcase, all three choirs will also be featured in several other prominent performances in the Goshen community.

Rejoice Children’s Choir rehearses at the GC Music Center

The Rejoice Children’s Choir (grades 3-5) was honored to be invited to collaborate with the Camerata Singers, a professional adult choral ensemble, in performing a movement from John Rutter’s Mass of the Children this Spring.  The concert will take place on Saturday, May 11th at the Goshen Theater.  Rejoice will perform a piece on their own and then will join Camerata for the Mass.  They are eager to begin preparing for this unique opportunity in January! Rejoice is conducted by Kristin Kauffman.

Shout For Joy performs in A Festival of Carols

Shout For Joy (grades 6-8) will perform at Goshen College’s annual Christmas concert, A Festival of Carols. Shout For Joy has become a core part of this beloved annual tradition kickstarting the holiday season. In addition to performing alongside the Goshen College choirs on traditional carols and a holiday medley with the Goshen College Symphony Orchestra, Shout For Joy will also perform two feature pieces on the program. Shout For Joy is conducted by Sandy Hill.

Sommo Voci rehearses in Sauder Concert Hall

Sommo Voci is a thriving ensemble this year at 66 members.  They enjoyed a collaborative performance at the Goshen College Fall Choral Concert on Saturday, October 28th, in which they performed a solo selection and 2 movements of the Gospel Mass by Robert Ray.  This opportunity was both educational and inspirational! Sommo Voci is conducted by Kristin Kauffman.
